About the Committee
The Economic Advisory Committee consists of twelve members: four members represent the commercial property owners (appointed by the Commercial Property Owners Association); four members represent business owners (one member is the Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce Chairperson, and the other three are appointed by the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors); and four members consisting of Council members and residents (appointments made by the Mayor and approved by the Council). The Committee meets on a monthly basis.
The Committee is charged with imprvoing the City's business and economic environment and helping to meet the shopping and service needs of local residents. The Committee has developed an Economic Revitalization Strategic Plan and continues to update the plan with the City's ever changing economic climate. The plan provides the framework for developing and maintaining a viable business community within the City of Pacific Grove that serves the needs of both residents and visitors alike, while providing the tax base upon which our City government depends to fund its programs, services, infrastructure, and public facilities.
