About the Committee

The Housing Committee was first established in 1984 as a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) advisory committee making recommendations to the City Council concerning grant applications. In recent years, the Committee has continued to deal with this issue as well as other affordable housing matters including senior housing development, housing rehabiliation, rental assistance, monitoring programs, housing studies and surveys, and housing element policies.

The Committee consists of one council member, three senior housing advocates, and three members with affordable housing interests. They meet on a bi-monthly basis.
