About the Commission

The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed to staggered terms of four years. The commission was created by the City Charter to make recommendations to the Council and City Manager in all matters pertaining to the physical development of the City.

The Commission's powers and duties include recommending to the City Council the adoption, amendment, or repeal of a General Plan, or any part thereof; exercising such functions with respect to land subdivsions, planning and zoning as may be prescribed by ordinance or resolution. The Commission also performs such other duties relating to planning and zoning as the Council may require, or as may be prescribed by the General Laws of the State.

For a copy of final meeting minutes, please contact the Community Development Department. All agendas and minutes will be accessible for approximately 24 months.
