Grants and Loans

The Housing Division and Sewer Division provides grants and loans to residents of Pacific Grove. Grants range from the Sewer Lateral Loan Program to the Rehabilitation Loan Program.

Private Lateral Sewer Replacement Program
If you are a resident of the City of Pacific Grove and experience sewer back-ups and overflows, your sewer line needs attention! Act NOW and don't wait until it's too late. If you voluntarily take action to prevent sewer spills, we have a way to help you pay for it:

Sewer Lateral Loan Program will provide you with a low interest loan up to $10,000 to repair or replace your private sewer lateral. These loans are deferred- no monthly payments are required!The application form is available for download below.

Note: This is a VOLUNTARY program. Loan funds are NOT available to property owners that are required to conduct mandatory inspections pursuant to the City’s municipal code, Chapter 9.20. Loan program funding is limited to budgeted funds and eligibility criteria.

Rental Assistance Program
The Rental Assistance Program pays up to $250.00 per month directly to the landlord of the Rental Assistance Program recipient. The rental unit must be located within the city limits of Pacific Grove. An application and more information about this program can be found on the Rental Assistance Program page.

Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program
The Program offers low interest and deferred interest rehabilitation loans to income-eligible property owners and property owners who rent to income-eligible tenants.The rental unit must be located within the city limits of Pacific Grove.
