City Attorney

The City of Pacific Grove employs a part-time, contract attorney to act as city attorney.  David C. Laredo of DeLay & Laredo of Pacific Groveis the current City Attorney.

In general, the city attorney is legal advisor to the city council and is available to all other city officials regarding city business. The attorney prepares all city ordinances, resolutions, contracts and other legal documents. The attorney also is responsible for prosecution of city ordinance violations, code compliance, attendance and advice at council and other meetings, and other legal services from time to time as directed by the council.
