PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. - The back 9 holes of the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course is in the final stages of a Federal Land Transfer. The back 9 sits on the Point Pinos Lighthouse Property owned by the USCG. Legislation was introduced by Congressman Sam Farr and signed by President George Bush to transfer the property to the City of Pacific Grove. The U.S. General Service Administration is the lead agency handling the land transfer.
The GSA has entered into a "Formal Consultation" with the United States Fish & Wildlife Service to approve the City's Biological Habitat & Dunes Restoration Plan and the transfer of the USCG property to the City of Pacific Grove. The area is approx 66acres of land which includes the back 9 golf holes, the Point Pinos Lighthouse and dunes.
This land transfer & dunes restoration plan has been in progress for several years and the City of Pacific Grove is excited for this special day.
